Assessment of brain health ingredient in Human Study

Mentat®, an indigenous, ayurvedic preparation containing Bacopa monnieri, Centella asiatica, Cithania somnifera, Evolvulus alsinoide, and Cardostachys jatamans , were tested for its efficacy in patients suffering from functional impairment following stroke. Twenty-four patients participated in the study. Thirteen patients received Mentat®, and eleven patients received placebo for a 12-week period. The Mentat® patients had better EMG (electromyographic) responses compared to the placebo group after 12 weeks.

A controlled clinical evaluation examined the effects of Mentat®, a traditional Ayurvedic formulation containing Bacopa monnieri, Centella asiatica, Withania somnifera, Evolvulus alsinoides, and Nardostachys jatamansi, on neuromuscular and supports to brain health parameters in adults with functional challenges following neurological stress. Twenty-four (24) participants were enrolled, with thirteen (13) receiving Mentat® and eleven (11) receiving a placebo over a 12-week period. Outcomes were assessed using electromyographic (EMG) measurements, and participants receiving Mentat® demonstrated more favorable EMG responses compared to the placebo group at the end of the study, suggesting supportive effects on neuromuscular function and overall neurological performance.
